
Report on One-Day Study Tour Organized by SUM College Union

The SUM College Union organized a one-day study tour on 1 September 2026, providing students with an opportunity to explore places of historical, environmental, and scenic importance. The tour began at 5:00 a.m. and concluded at approximately 4:00 a.m. the following day.
A total of 339 students and five escorting teachers participated in the trip. The tour covered Nilambur, the famous Canoli Plot, Mini Ooty, and the Bay of Calicut.
The first destination was the Nilambur Teak Museum, which offered a wonderful and informative experience. The forest protection team explained the history of teak, its significance, and its importance in forestry and environmental conservation. The visit helped students gain a deeper understanding of the value of forest resources and the need to protect them.
The group then visited Canoli Plot, one of the notable forest attractions in Nilambur. The students had the opportunity to appreciate the natural surroundings and learn more about the importance of preserving forest ecosystems.
The next destination was Mini Ooty, where the students enjoyed the beautiful landscape and scenic views. The visit provided a refreshing break and allowed everyone to spend quality time together. The Glass bridge was a superb expience, the acquirum and other rides are also wonderful.
Finally, the group visited the Bay of Calicut at night, where the students enjoyed the coastal atmosphere and shared many joyful moments with their friends and teachers. The entire journey was filled with excitement, laughter, and memorable experiences.
A tour manager accompanied the group and provided the necessary assistance and coordination throughout the trip, helping to ensure the smooth conduct of the tour.
Overall, the study tour was a memorable and enriching experience for all participants. It combined educational exploration with recreation and fellowship. The students gained valuable knowledge about forestry, nature, and the importance of environmental conservation while developing friendship, cooperation, and team spirit. The trip concluded with wonderful memories and a sense of happiness and satisfaction among the students and teachers.
