Report on the Self-Introduction Programme

A Self-Introduction Programme was conducted on 22 July 2026 at SUMCTE with the objective of helping students and faculty members become acquainted with one another and fostering a friendly and interactive learning environment.

The programme began with an address by Dr. Rosa M. C., Principal SUMCTE who highlighted the importance of self-introduction in building confidence, improving communication skills, and developing meaningful interpersonal relationships. She emphasized that introducing oneself is the first step toward creating a positive impression and establishing a supportive academic atmosphere. She also encouraged students to actively participate in the session and make the most of the opportunity to know their classmates and teachers.

Following her address, all the faculty members introduced themselves in detail. They shared their academic qualifications, areas of specialization, teaching experience, research interests, and responsibilities within the institution. Their introductions helped students become familiar with the faculty and understand the academic support available to them.

The students then introduced themselves one by one. Each student shared personal details, including their educational background, hometown, aspirations, hobbies, talents, interests, and reasons for choosing the B.Ed. programme. Many students also spoke about their career goals, expectations from the course, and their enthusiasm for becoming dedicated and competent teachers. The session provided every student with an opportunity to express themselves confidently before their peers and teachers.

The programme created a warm, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere that encouraged interaction among students and faculty members. It helped reduce hesitation among newly admitted students, strengthened mutual understanding, and laid the foundation for healthy relationships within the institution. The active participation of all the students and teachers made the programme highly engaging and successful.

The Self-Introduction Programme concluded on a positive note, marking the beginning of a collaborative and enriching academic journey for the new batch of B.Ed. students.
