Report on the General PTA Formation Meeting

The General Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Formation Meeting of SUMCTE was held on 27 July 2026 at the General Hall, SUMCTE.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Divakaran P. E., Assistant Professor of Physical Science, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, parents, faculty members, and students. Dr. Rosa M. C., Principal, SUMCTE, presided over the function.

The meeting was formally inaugurated by Mr. C. Ahammedkutty Master, Manager, SUMCTE. Mr. T. P. Abdulla Master, Secretary, SUMCTE, felicitated the gathering and conveyed his best wishes for the successful functioning of the PTA.

As part of the programme, Dr. Krishnakumar E. P., IQAC Coordinator, delivered a detailed orientation session on the B.Ed. programme and its curriculum. He explained the structure of the programme, academic requirements, evaluation process, and the significance of parental support in enhancing students’ academic and professional development.

During the function, postgraduate students who secured top university ranks were honoured for their outstanding academic achievements. Ms. Aparna A. (M.Sc. Mathematics), who secured the Second Rank, Ms. Devika S. Prakash (M.A. Economics), and Ms. Safa Sharaf T. K. (M.A. Political Science) were felicitated and presented with awards in recognition of their academic excellence.

Following the orientation, the General PTA was constituted. Mr. Rajratham V. P. was elected as the PTA President, Ms. Divya Rajesh as the Vice President, and Ms. Shabla as the Treasurer. An eight-member Executive Committee was also formed to coordinate the activities of the PTA for the academic year.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Balakrishnan P., Staff Secretary who expressed sincere gratitude to the dignitaries, parents, faculty members, students, and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
