The International Yoga Day Observation was conducted on 22 June 2026 at the SUM College Auditorium with the active participation of students and faculty members.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Rosa M.C., Principal, SUM College of Teacher Education. The session commenced with a welcome address delivered by Mr. Sachin Sir, Physical Science Teacher, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, resource persons, and participants.

The main session was led by Ms. Dilina P.K., Certified Yoga instructor Kannur University, who provided comprehensive instruction on the various components of yoga and their positive influence on both the body and mind. She explained the significance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and emotional balance. Through an engaging demonstration, she introduced several yoga asanas and elaborated on their health benefits and therapeutic effects. The students actively participated in the practical session and gained valuable knowledge about yoga practices.

The instructional session lasted for more than two hours, offering participants an enriching learning experience and hands-on practice of different yoga techniques.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rosa M.C. emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life. She highlighted its role in promoting a healthy lifestyle, reducing stress, improving concentration, and enhancing overall well-being. Her insightful speech inspired the students to adopt yoga as a regular practice.
