Report on the Farewell Function of Dr. C.V. Jayasree

The farewell function of the beloved Principal, Dr. C.V. Jayasree, was held on 24th March 2026 at the SUM College Auditorium with great enthusiasm, warmth, and respect. The event was a memorable occasion attended by management members, staff, alumni, students, and distinguished guests.

The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. Joby K. Jose, who graced the function as the chief guest. The session began with a welcome address delivered by the SUM College Committee Secretary, Mr. T.P. Abdulla Master, who warmly greeted the gathering and highlighted the significance of the occasion.

The function was presided over by the SUM College Manager, Mr. Ahammed Kutty Master C., who expressed his appreciation for the remarkable contributions of Dr. C.V. Jayasree to the institution.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Joby K. Jose spoke extensively about the teaching profession and its growing importance in the “Generation C” phase. He emphasized the rapid changes in communication and networking and stressed that teachers must continuously update themselves to meet the evolving demands of modern education.

As a mark of respect and gratitude, Dr. Joby K. Jose presented a token of appreciation to Dr. C.V. Jayasree. The management committee also honored her with gifts and mementos in recognition of her dedicated service. Alumni members from the 2008–09 and 2011–12 batches, along with the current batches (2004–2006 and 2005–2007), also presented tokens of appreciation and gifts to express their affection and gratitude.

On this occasion, Mr. Azeez Haji presented a token of appreciation to Dr. Joby K. Jose. A special moment of the programme was the presentation of a token of love to the Physical Education Teacher, Mr. Abhinand K., who is leaving the institution to take up a new position at Ancharkkandy Higher Secondary School. He was honored by Mr. Ahammed Kutty Master C. for his service and dedication.

The event was further enriched by the presence of several distinguished personalities, including Dr. T.P. Asharf (Former Principal, Keyi Sahib Training College), Ms. Indu K. Mathew (Principal, Malabar Training College), and Mr. Divakaran P.E. (Assistant Professor, SUMCTE). They shared their heartfelt memories and experiences with Dr. C.V. Jayasree, adding emotional depth to the occasion.

The farewell function was truly a wonderful and emotional ceremony. The presence of a large number of alumni added to the vibrancy of the occasion. The event concluded with a festive gathering organized by the management, leaving behind cherished memories for everyone present.
