SUM College of Teacher Education organized a study tour to Chikmagalur and Mysore from 15/01/2026 to 18/01/2025. The tour was planned with the objective of providing students and teachers with educational exposure, cultural enrichment, and opportunities for experiential learning outside the classroom.

The tour was efficiently managed by Mr. Divarkan (P.E.) and Mr. Suneesh K., whose guidance and coordination ensured the smooth conduct of the programme. A total of 32 students and teachers participated in the study tour.

During the visit to Chikmagalur, the group explored Baba Budangiri, a place of historical, religious, and ecological importance. The scenic beauty of the Western Ghats and the rich biodiversity of the region offered students valuable insights into geography, environmental studies, and heritage conservation.

In Mysore, the participants visited the Mysore Palace, which provided a deep understanding of royal history, architecture, and cultural traditions of Karnataka. The visit to the Car Museum exposed students to the evolution of automobiles and technological advancement. The tour also included a visit to St. Philomena’s Church, admired for its neo-gothic architecture and historical significance.

The study tour proved to be highly educational and refreshing. It promoted social interaction, teamwork, and practical learning among the students. The trip also helped in strengthening the bond between students and teachers while creating memorable experiences.
