

An Orientation and Personality Development Programme was successfully conducted on 08 December 2025 at the SUM College Auditorium under the joint initiative of the SUM Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and NSS Unit 100. The event aimed to familiarize students with the vision and activities of the National Service Scheme while equipping them with insights into personal growth and development.
The session commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Sunnesh K, Assistant Professor, General Education, who highlighted the relevance of personality development for students and the importance of active participation in NSS activities.
Following the welcome, Mr. Krishnakumar addressed the gathering, offering valuable perspectives on student engagement and the role of NSS in shaping responsible citizens. His words motivated the students to contribute proactively to community service.
The keynote session was delivered by Mr. Shijith K, Assistant Professor, Madayi College, who presented an informative and inspiring talk on NSS and its multifaceted activities. He elaborated on the objectives, responsibilities, and benefits of being an NSS volunteer, emphasizing service, discipline, and leadership. His talk provided students with a clearer understanding of the opportunities NSS offers for holistic development.
The programme also included an interactive session where students actively engaged with the resource person. They raised questions, shared opinions, and discussed ideas related to NSS initiatives and personality development. The interaction added depth to the session, making it more meaningful and participatory.
