This quote by Tarryn Fisher suggest that our eyes can reveal the truth about what a person is truly thinking or feeling when we closely observe someone’s eye, we can potentially witness their genuine emotions and thoughts as the eyes are considered a window into the soul. They can convey messages that may not be expressed through words, allowing us to perceive the unfiltered and authentic aspects of a person’s inner world. By paying attention to someone’s eyes, we may gain insight into their true intention, emotions and thoughts.
The UN General Assembly has proclaimed 23 September as International Day of Sign Language in order to raise awareness of the importance of sign language in order to raise awareness of the importance of sign language in the full realization of human rights to people who are deaf.
The theme 2023 International Day of Sign Language is ‘A world where deaf people everyone can sign anywhere’. The world will highlight the unity generated by sign languages. Deaf communities, government and civil society organizations continue their collective efforts hand in hand to foster, promote and recognize national sign language as part of their countries.
The convention on rights of person with disabilities recognize and promotes the use of sign languages. It makes clear that sign languages are equal in status to spoken language and obligates states parties to facilitate the learning of sign language and promote the linguistic identity of deaf community.
