As part of a community service initiative, the NSS Unit of SUM College of Teacher Education undertook the Library Digitalization Project at Ancharakkandy Higher Secondary School on 20th February 2025. The program was aimed at transforming the traditional school library into a digital format, making it more accessible and efficient for students and staff.

A total of 56 dedicated NSS volunteers from our college actively participated in the day-long activity under the guidance and coordination of Mr. Sunesh K, NSS Programme Coordinator, SUM College of Teacher Education. It was managed by the SUM College of Teacher Education IQAC.

The team began their work early in the morning by assembling in the library hall. The students efficiently organized the books and then proceeded to scan and upload over 3000 books into the digital library system. The digital cataloguing of such a large volume of books was a challenging task but was executed smoothly thanks to the collective effort and enthusiasm of the volunteers.

The entire activity was further supported and streamlined under the mentorship of Sajan Sir, Assistant Professor, NSS College, Ottapalam, whose experience and guidance played a crucial role in the successful completion of the project.

The program not only contributed to the betterment of the host school’s academic resources but also provided valuable hands-on experience to our NSS volunteers in handling large-scale digital documentation and teamwork.

The Principal and staff of Ancharakkandy Higher Secondary School appreciated the efforts and thanked the team for their contribution toward educational development.
