



On the afternoon of August 19, 2025, SUM College of Teacher Education, Chigam 1 hosted a special program titled “A Day with Farmers” to celebrate Farmers’ Day and honor the invaluable contributions of local farmers.
The event took place at the college auditorium, where distinguished farmers were invited and felicitated for their dedication and service to agriculture. The honored guests included:
- Mr. Venugopalan CK– Rice cultivator
- Mr. Chandran – Paper and coconut tree planter
- Mr. Prakashan M.V – Tapioca cultivator
- Mr. Prasannakumar PK– Coconut cultivator
- Pavithran V.V- Banana cultivator
The program began with a warm welcome speech by Miss Praseeth, followed by an inspirational address by Dr. C.V. Jayasree, highlighting the importance of agriculture in the nation’s progress and the vital role farmers play in society.
Mr. Sunnesh K. delivered the felicitation address, expressing deep gratitude and admiration for the farmers’ hard work. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr. Divakaran (P.E.), who appreciated all participants and contributors for making the event a meaningful tribute to the farming community.
The celebration fostered awareness, respect, and recognition for farmers, creating a memorable and inspiring experience for all attendees.
