he Science Club and Biodiversity Club of SUM College were inaugurated on 2nd March 2026 at the College Auditorium in a grand and inspiring ceremony. The event marked an important step toward promoting scientific awareness and environmental responsibility among students.

The inauguration was carried out by the renowned ornithologist Khalil Chovva. In his keynote address, Dr. Khalil Chovva spoke extensively about biodiversity and its vital role in maintaining ecological balance. He explained the importance of conserving natural habitats and highlighted the interdependence between living organisms. Adding great interest to his session, he presented and discussed various species of birds, elaborating on their role in sustaining biodiversity and the environment. His presentation was both informative and engaging, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

The function was presided over by Dr. C.V. Jaysree, who emphasized the importance of scientific thinking and environmental awareness among students. Dr. Krishnakumar and Ms. Prasetha delivered felicitation addresses, appreciating the initiative taken by the college in forming these clubs and encouraging students to actively participate in their activities.

Mr. Anaswar Prasennan welcomed the gathering, setting a warm and enthusiastic tone for the event. The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ameya, who expressed gratitude to the chief guest, dignitaries, faculty members, and students for making the event a success.
