

A two-day workshop on “Understanding Self” was conducted on 16/02/2026 and 17/02/2026. The session was led by Mr. Praddepan Malloth, Counselling Psychologist, Hrudayram, Kannur. The programme was chaired by Mr. George Joseph. Dr. Krishnakumar EP also attended the workshop.
The workshop focused on helping participants understand themselves better, particularly in relation to emotions, stress, and personal development. Mr. Praddepan Malloth explained the importance of recognizing one’s own strengths, weaknesses, needs, and interests. He emphasized that self-awareness plays a crucial role in personal growth and effective interaction with others.
During the session, he discussed the needs and interests of children and highlighted how understanding these aspects can support their emotional and psychological development. He provided practical examples to explain how children express their needs and how adults can respond appropriately.
Another important topic covered was stress and strain management. The resource person explained different causes of stress in daily life and demonstrated simple coping strategies to manage stress effectively. Through relevant examples, he illustrated healthy ways to deal with pressure, especially in academic and personal contexts.
The workshop was interactive and engaging. Participants were encouraged to share their thoughts and experiences, which made the sessions lively and meaningful. The overall programme was informative and beneficial, providing valuable insights into self-understanding and stress management.
