Report on the Annual Athletic Meet 2026
The Annual Athletic Meet of SUM College of Teacher Education was successfully organized on 09 January 2026 at the SUM College Ground. The event was conducted with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and staff, highlighting the importance of physical fitness and sportsmanship.
The athletic meet was inaugurated by Mr. Manoj C., Physical Education Teacher, Ancharakkandy School, who encouraged the students to actively participate in sports for their physical and mental well-being. The overall coordination of the meet was efficiently carried out by Mr. Abhinand, ensuring the smooth conduct of all events.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. C. V. Jayasree, who emphasized the role of sports in shaping discipline, leadership, and teamwork among students. Mr. Ahammed Kutty Master, Manager, SUMCTE, extended his best wishes and motivated the students to strive for excellence both in academics and sports.
The conduct of the athletic events was supported by several officials from the University Department, Mangattuparamba, whose assistance ensured fairness and professionalism throughout the competitions. Mr. Diljith E. P. played a key role in welcoming and coordinating the entire athletic meet, contributing to the success of the event.
Students actively participated in various track and field events, displaying remarkable enthusiasm, competitive spirit, and sportsmanship. The meet provided a platform for students to showcase their athletic talents and fostered a sense of unity and teamwork among participants.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Abdulla Master and Mr. Ashf K. K., who expressed gratitude to the chief guest, officials, staff members, and students for their cooperation and support in making the event a grand success.
