On 3rd October 2025, a heartwarming outreach program titled “Sparsham” was organized by the NSS Unit, IQAC, and SUM College of Teacher Education, with the noble aim of serving and connecting with the elderly.

The program was inaugurated by Mr. Divakaran P.E., Principal In-Charge, who emphasized the importance of compassion and social responsibility among youth. The initiative was led by Mr. Suneesh K, NSS Programme Coordinator, whose leadership ensured the smooth execution of the event.

As part of the program, our team visited several old age homes, carrying fruits and warm wishes. The volunteers interacted with the elderly, enquired about their health, and spent quality time listening to their experiences and stories. This interaction brought smiles to the residents and offered the students a touching and meaningful experience.

Faculty members including Mr. George Joseph, Ms. Praseetha, Dr. Krishnakumar E.P., and Mr. Balakrishnan P accompanied and supported the students, further enriching the program with their presence and guidance.

“Sparsham” proved to be a touching and memorable experience that emphasized the value of empathy, care, and human connection — a true reflection of the social commitment upheld by the institution.
