




INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION REPORT

Venue: SUM College of Teacher Education (SUM CTE), Campus Grounds
The 79th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great patriotism and enthusiasm at SUM College of Teacher Education (SUM CTE) on 15th August 2025. The celebration was marked by the active participation of faculty, students, and distinguished guests.
Flag Hoisting Ceremony
The program commenced in the morning with the flag hoisting ceremony. Dr. C.V. Jayasree, Principal of SUM CTE, hoisted the National Flag in the presence of the assembled staff, students, and dignitaries. The National Anthem was sung in unison, filling the atmosphere with patriotic fervor.
Welcome Address
Mr. George Joseph extended a warm welcome to all attendees. His address acknowledged the significance of the day and set the tone for the rest of the celebrations.
Guest Speeches
Following the flag hoisting, a series of speeches were delivered by esteemed guests:
- Mr. Azeez Haji, Vice Chairman, SUM CTE
- Dr. CV Jaya sree
- Mr. Ahammed Kutty Master, Manager, SUM CTE
- Mr. Krishnakumar E.P., IQAC Co-ordinator
Each speaker emphasized the importance of freedom, reflected on the sacrifices made by our forefathers, and urged the younger generation to uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution of India.
Patriotic Song
After the formal speeches, a group of students rendered a soulful patriotic song that resonated with the spirit of the occasion and was met with applause from the audience.
Honouring Defence Personnel
In a special gesture, Subedar Major Sajevan K.K. and Havildar Raveendran N. were honoured for their service to the nation. The felicitation was done by Mr. Azeez Haji, Vice Chairman, SUM College of Teacher Education. The honoured guests expressed their gratitude and shared a few words, encouraging students to contribute meaningfully to society.
Felicitation Talk
Students were addressed with a special felicitation talk, where they were encouraged to reflect on the values of patriotism, unity, and service. The talk inspired the youth to be responsible citizens and uphold the dignity of the nation.
Cultural Programmes
A variety of cultural events were organized by the students to celebrate the occasion. These included:
- Patriotic dance performances
- Skits based on freedom struggle
- Poetry recitations
- Group songs and speeches
Each performance highlighted themes of nationalism, unity in diversity, and India’s cultural richness.
Distribution of Sweets
The celebration concluded with the distribution of sweets to all students, staff, and guests, fostering a sense of community and togetherness.
