
A Faculty Development Program was conducted by SUM College of Teacher Education on 10th July 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, focusing on the key themes of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) 2023.
The session was presided over by Dr. Jayasree, and the keynote presentation was delivered by Dr. Vijaya K, Professor of Curriculum Studies and Development at NCERT. Dr. Vijaya provided an in-depth analysis of the objectives, structure, and transformative aspects of NEP 2020 and NCFSE 2023. The session emphasized competency-based education, foundational literacy and numeracy, flexibility in the curriculum, and the integration of technology in teaching and learning processes.
All faculty members of SUM College of Teacher Education actively participated in the webinar. Following the main session, an engaging discussion was held on the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), which is a key recommendation under NEP 2020. The discussion highlighted the relevance of ITEP in enhancing the professional preparation of teachers through a multidisciplinary and holistic approach.
The program concluded with positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the insights shared and expressed commitment to aligning their teaching practices with the evolving educational frameworks.
