SUM College Feedback Cell

The Feedback Cell at SUM College of Teacher Education plays an instrumental role in fostering continuous improvement and excellence in education. Recognizing the importance of stakeholder insights, the institution has established various mechanisms to systematically gather feedback from key groups, including students, alumni, parents, and employers. These mechanisms include structured events like annual alumni meetings, student exit evaluations, and parent-teacher meetings.

In recent years, the college has adopted more streamlined feedback processes, particularly focusing on curriculum-related feedback, to uphold high standards in curriculum development, delivery, and outcome achievement. Feedback is collected primarily through Google Forms, ensuring accessibility and consistency in data collection. This feedback is consolidated into an annual report, which informs actionable steps to address any gaps or areas of concern, underscoring SUM College’s commitment to quality and responsive education.

ACTION TAKEN REPORT ON CURRICULUM 2023-2024

            Consolidated Action Taken Report

Feedback SuggestionsActions Taken
The curriculum covers essential theories, but more practical examples of how to apply them in classrooms would be beneficial.Pedagogical theories are well-represented, yet more hands-on sessions might solidify understandingIntroduce workshops where students can practice applying pedagogical theories through role-play, case studies, and peer teaching exercises.
Reflective practices are encouraged, but more structured reflection activities and mentorship would help. The curriculum includes some reflective practices, yet more frequent guided sessions could improve self-awareness.Implement regular reflective journaling assignments and introduce a mentorship program connecting students with faculty and experienced alumni for professional insights
The curriculum includes some digital literacy training, but more exposure to emerging educational technologies would be helpful.Digital skills are addressed, but consistent technology integration across subjects could enhance learning.Expand digital literacy modules and incorporate training on advanced digital tools and software used in educational technology
The learning environment is supportive, though more collaborative spaces and resources would enrich the experience.
The environment is conducive but could improve with updated facilities and resource availability.
Enhance classroom and online learning resources, including collaborative spaces, updated library materials, and online academic resources to foster a more supportive and flexible learning environment.
The curriculum aligns well with job requirements, but more guidance on interview preparation and job search would help.
The curriculum prepares students well, yet adding job-focused workshops could enhance employability.
Organize job-readiness workshops covering resume writing, interview skills, and job search strategies. Develop a job placement support system and strengthen alumni networks to assist in job placements.
The curriculum encourages self-study, though guidance on self-directed learning tools could improve it.The focus on self-learning is positive, but more structured guidance may be needed.
Provide students with resources and workshops on effective self-learning techniques and tools.
Most content is relevant, yet updates on recent issues like online learning are needed. The curriculum should reflect newer educational challenges, like technology integration.Regularly update course content to include emerging issues in education, like digital literacy and inclusivity.
The program promotes core values but could emphasize conflict resolution and empathy training.More dedicated sessions for soft skills could enhance student-teacher interaction. Alumni find values embedded well but see potential in more soft skill training.
Introduce more soft skill development sessions focusing on communication, empathy, and conflict management.
The theoretical knowledge is extensive; however, practical teaching exposure could be improved. The balance is fair, but internships or practice sessions should be longer.Discussed with  University
Certain courses encourage creativity, but a few still rely on rote learning. More practical assignments could further improve critical thinking among students. Graduates appreciate critical thinking elements but suggest more interactive activities.Informed the University to  revise the curriculum to include more project-based learning, case studies, and discussions.
The curriculum helps develop relevant skills, but more modern teaching technologies would be helpful.Focus on essential competencies is good, yet a few gaps in digital skills persist.Increase workshops on digital tools, classroom technologies, and relevant skill-building sessions.
The curriculum content provides a strong foundation but may lack adequate exposure to real-world teaching challenges. The curriculum is structured, yet adjustments to incorporate more contemporary educational theories might enhance outcomes. The course structure helps build teaching abilities; however, more emphasis on practical skills could better prepare students.
Review and revise course content with more real-world examples and case studies. Increase collaboration with local schools for practical experience.
